Who is Gringo Furniture and where are we based?
We are both a Canadian & Mexican based Company that assists Americans, Canadians and Europeans in furnishing their vacation homes in Mexico. We have 3 employees and 2 dogs in Canada, 10 employees and 2 trucks in Mexico City and 1 representative on the Mayan Riviera.

We are a small company consisting of a family from Canada and a family from Mexico. We have come together to form a company that helps make furnishing in Mexico easier for foreigners. We do not have a fleet of trucks, and endless funding to build an empire. What we do have is a lot of HEARTand DRIVE to build a business based on trust, expertise and a mission to always try to do the right thing for each and every customer.

How did Gringo Furniture start?
We, the Canadian family, is just like you. We went down to Mexico, fell in love and bought our first property in 2002. Back then, there was no assistance in furnishing your homes, Costco was not even open yet. It was a very difficult undertaking in 2002 to furnish our home and it caused a lot of stress and frustration. When we built our 2nd home in 2005 the thought of furnishing again was overwhelming. That is when Gringo Furniture started it's roots. Our Mexican partners are a family run company for over 30 years and are located in Mexico City.

Can I get this furniture delivered to Canada or the United States?
Sorry, we do not deliver to the United States or Canada at this time. Our main and only focus at this time is Mexico.

How can I possibly furnish my entire vacation property on-line without seeing the furniture first hand?
This is probably the most difficult obstacle people experience thru this process. Not seeing, touching and feeling the furniture before you buy it can be a scary prospect.

Our furniture is not all the different from any of the rustic furniture you have seen in your travels around Mexico. The only different is that our wood is kiln dried and bug and termite treated. We use a dense pine imported from Chile and each piece of furniture is hand made so sizes can vary slightly. We can send you via UPS fabric and wood samples to assist in your choices of finishes.

We stand behind everything we make. If your furniture shows up and is wrong we will either replace it ASAP or refund your money. If any pieces are broken or damaged we will replace them a quickly as possible. We want all our customers to be happy and satisfied and will bend over backwards to make that happen.

The alternative to using us is to go to Mexico, rent a car and shop for days/weeks on end. We are experienced and know what your needs are and can help you overcome any apprehensions of buying online. Just give us a call and talk to us to see how we can help.

How can I shop for my Furniture? Is there anyone who can help me thru this daunting process?
Of course! That is what we specialize in. You can call us anytime on our toll-free number for assistance. Many people send their floor plan ahead of their phone call in an email detailing certain objectives for their condo/villa. When you call we will have your floor plan in hand and will walk thru each room with you and help you decide what is best for you new vacation property.

Where are your stores in Mexico located?
We do not have any stores in Mexico, we are a virtual store only. We have 2 model homes in the Mayan Riviera that can be viewed by appointment only.

How long will it take for my furniture to be delivered?
We have made and delivered furniture in as little as a week and a half, however, we can not always promise to be this quick. Normally, we can deliver your furniture within 4-6 weeks.

We do not carry much inventory. Once your order is in-house we purchase the wood and make the furniture. Sometimes we have odds and ends that you can purchase if you are in a real hurry to furnish, but it is best to give us the 4 weeks to make exactly what you want.

Why do I have to pay for Delivery?
Ahhh, the dreaded "delivery charge". Yes, our prices are inexpensive, but you must remember that those prices do not include the delivery charge. Our delivery charge is approximately 30% of the total order.

Our prices, including the delivery charge are extremely competitive with any of the other outlets you would buy your furniture at. Often times, we are less expensive depending on where you are located.

The days of getting a "great deal" in Mexico are slowly disappearing as Mexico develops into a haven for retirees and baby boomers. The cost of labour in Mexico is going up, the cost of living is increasing, gas prices are heading higher and the US dollar is going down. This all translates into more realistic cost on everything including our delivery charges.

We will make every effort to keep our prices as low as we can.

How do I know you are a legitimate company?
We are a registered corporation in Ontario, Canada. We went thru an incredible process to allow us to process credit cards thru TD Canada Trust. We had to secure the rights to use Visa and MasterCard with 1000's of dollars that is held by the bank in trust to make sure we deliver what we say we will. It is your credit card providers who protect you. It is always a good practice not to wire money or send bank drafts as there is little recourse for you if the company is not upstanding.
